The Mall Family Practice is a training Practice. This means each year a new GP registrar will join our team. A GP registrar is a fully qualified doctor who has spent at least three years or more gaining experience within hospitals in fields such as general Medicine, Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Emergency medicine and who are currently in the ICGP specialist training Programme.

From time to time we also facilitate the teaching of medical students from NUIG. Students will spend a two week period in our Surgery observing consultations and learning how General Practice works. In such instances you will always be asked before a consultation if you are comfortable with a student sitting in and observing and we completely understand you may wish to be seen privately .
